Lenten Season started...

We were all up at 3 in the morning! We went to Marilao, Bulacan at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy, it was almost a 2-hour travel from Los Banos. We attended the 6am mass in this huge field at the back of the main church.

People gathered here right after the 6am mass, this alter was located at the back wall of the main church.

Under the main church was a replica of the Holy Land...

Then, our final stop was a little snack at the famous Aling Nene's Eatery in Obando. Its a famous snack place in the area where Lugaw with Tokwa't Baboy, Pancit Palabok and dessert Akay-akay are served daily!

Here's the famous Pancit Palabok of Marilao and Obando... yum!

Hello Everyone... this is Issa!

This is not a food thing but I'm posting in behalf of my Mommy! Nothing much new lately, but I want to share some stories about my boys... Luigi and Chuy!

Let me start with little Chuy-chuy... last Saturday we were at SM Sta. Rosa, we just went out to treat the boys and stroll around. It was SM's closing time, Luigi and I were together, while Mommy, Dodo and Chuy were at the parking area waiting for us. Since it was quite late already wala ng masyadong tao and cars at the parking. As Luigi and I were walking towards the parking and crossing the road, I told Luigi not to call Chuy or make any sound so that Chuy won't see us walking. BUT! He still saw us and run crossing the wide road towards us, hay mabuti na lang at malayo pa yong car na padating and still had to slow down because of a hump. I felt like my heart jumped out of my chest sa sobrang nerbyos! Before he slept that night, I talked to chuy not to do that again, or else maba-bantay bata si Mommy and Daddy...

Oh well, I got a text message last night from Luigi's school service driver... he told me na may sinuntok daw si Luigi na service-mate nya and that the mother of boy was asking my telephone number. So instantly, I talked to Luigi about it. Inamin naman nya na may sinuntok nga sya kasi napuno na daw sya sa pangaasar nong bata who was only grade 4, meaning a lot younger than him. Dodo was out last night attending a little reunioun with his dormmates in college. So Jay and Mommyla were there while I was scolding Luigi, they were telling him to hit again the boy if he does that again. See how KONSINTEDOR these people are! Hahaha! This morning when his service came to pick him, Dodo talked to the boy at pinagbati nya to finally end their differences. Dodo even went to the boy's parents for an apology. Whatever really happened then, I still think that Luigi should have kept his patience because he's a lot bigger than the poor grade 4 boy.

Well, cases closed! Sabi nga ng mga friends ko, lalaki nga ang mga anak ko! These are things that boys should pass thru before growing up. Hay naku, you just don't know how praning I am when it comes to raising kids specially my two brating boys! Have to go now, have to let the steam get off my head!

Jay and Che's Wedding Anniversary

Last January 15 was Jay and Che's Wedding Anniversary, and that means eating time once again! We had a little chocolate cake, Che got it from a pastry store near corner F.O. Santos Street in Grove. And of course, Jay's favorite Kani Salad... the ingredients are cubed cucumber, apples, ripe mangos, lettuce, japanese mayonaise and crab sticks, yum! And look at Chuy, he was busy munching the vegetable tempura!

Happy Birthday Reggie, Marilyn and Linda... many more birthdays and blessings to come!

Baguio Trip!

We just came home from Baguio last night! We'd been away for 4 days and it was such a great experience to stay in Baguio this time of the year. It was terribly COLD! We stayed at Teacher's Camp cottage 213C, our favorite cottage to reserve because there is hot water in the shower. Althought it was not really that good looking compared to the hotel rooms, but we are very comfortable staying there because we get to cook food, relax and just feel the cool morning breeze of baguio. On our way, we stopped by at the Manaoag Shrine and had mass. Then we visited the Pink Sister's convent, the famous Lourdes Grotto, Baguio Cathedral, Mine View Park, Good Shepherd, Session Road and Camp John Hay. We ate at Mann Hann in SM, Brother's Burger and Carlos Pizza at Camp John Hay, and tried the fried "day old chicks", a street food very famous in Baguio. Luigi and Enzo had the great time in Shoemart, just strolling around and still searching for late x'mas presents... find out how much fun we had in Baguio!

Our family just love to stay in Baguio, it's our second home away from home! I just wish we can have our own place here... someday!
